Is it kitsch or is it a tribute? Tell us what you think about Freddie Mercury, feathering an alter ego in the famous Angry Birds series. Personally, I don't think the Queen frontman would have ever wanted to be transformed into an animation, although he was a very amusing man.
Angry Bird Queen?
Freddie Mercury has been immortalized, inside Angry Birds, as a way to celebrate the rock legend's September 5 birthday. If you watch the video released by Rovio, I bet you will find quite peculiar to see a mustachioed yellow bird, with chest hair, bad teeth and a regal crown, as the image of Mercury. At least, the creator has the wisdom to preserve one of Queen's hit, Bicycle Race (1978).
Besides Rovio's idea to generate more profit for its popular series, the idea completes a social campaign, the annual Freddie for a Day, aiming to raise money for Freddie Mercury's organization, The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
